USB-c output from monitor supplies more wattage than required . Is it safe to charge my MacBook with it?

My monitor has a USB-c output that supplies 96W power. I use MacBook pro 13 inch, 2019 which has a 61 W charger. Is it safe to use the USB-c output from the monitor to charge my MacBook?

Yes you can safely use a higher watt charger with your MacBook Pro. If the charger has a greater potential, then this isn't a problem as the device will only request what it can handle or need.
