I tried to move a folder to a higher level folder, and after an error message "could not complete operation" the folder has disappeared. Where is it and how do I retrieve it?

Command–Space bar to Show or hide the Spotlight search field. To perform a Spotlight search from a Finder window, press
Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support
Command Z typically will undo the very last command/action...

Thanks for the reply. This was a problem with Apple mail. I found the folder just by hunting around more in the list of folders in Apple mail (I have a lot of folders). The folder I tried to move ended up out of alphabetical order in a long list of similar folders.
Also I was not able to move that folder to a higher level folder.
