Downloads folder

My downloads folder doesn't appear in the sidebar in finder but when I try to access it through go>downloads , a message pops up "The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found." Does anyone know how to fix this issue or recover the folder?

The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Downloads” can’t be found. Once i deleted the Folder '' Downloads'' and i couldn't find it. i don't know how i put it back. I created a new folder Downloads but it's not original. Can anyone support me to put the ''Downloads'' folder back ?

I tried to move a folder to a higher level folder, and after an error message "could not complete operation" the folder has disappeared. Where is it and how do I retrieve it? Look in your Home folder to see if there's a Documents folder there. If it is drag it into the side bar.

Also do you have iCloud Drive enabled and, if so, also have the Desktop & Documents folder enabled for the iCloud Drive?
