All my emails older than 2 years are missing. Does the Mail app automatically delete them or is the setting for that?
OK, I figured it out and I'm a little embarrassed. I didn't start to create folders by years until 2020. All my older emails were still in a catchall folder. All good and thank you for your time.

Since your iCloud email messages utilize the iCloud storage space you have available, we would first suggest seeing if you are low on storage: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support.

Using iCloud email using the desktop app and iPhone app
Viewing on both an iMac and iPhone
The emails are missing from desktop Mail and from iCloud.com mail viewed in Safari.
I had folders going back about 4 years.
Thank you for the information. I have 50GB of storage and have about 2GB left. I rarely send email that exceed the size limits and I do have Mail Drop turned on.
My problem doesn't seem to involve either of these issues. The problem is I have lost all my emails I have put in folders that are 2 years old or older. The Mail app seems to have deleted them. Is there a setting that automatically deletes emails that are older than 2 years?
