Notification experience in Big Sur

I recently upgraded from Catalina to Big Sur and am not really happy with the notifications experience with it.

Catalina had a full-sized dismiss button on the right end of the popup, which came in handy while multitasking. This was updated in Big Sur with a tiny x icon on the top left, which makes it difficult, as you need to concentrate relatively more, in order to dismiss. It breaks your workflow. Is there something that can be done to get that seamless experience back?
