AirPlay may ask for a 4-digit pairing code. This would be displayed on one screen, to be manually copied to the other device.

AirPlay may ask for a password. This can be set (or its requirement disabled) on the AirPlay receiving device in Settings.

On which screen is the code for Roku express?

I expect that the TV screen (the receiving device) would display the PIN code (once). For Roku AirPlay, the TV may need to be set to take input from the Roku first.

A password wouldn’t be displayed, and would be known to the user that sets it (on the receiving device).
