Try to check USB-C ports of your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it really reports USB-C ports error.

If it reports error, contact Apple Support or make Genius Bar reservation if your local retail AppleStore is open or find opened local Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Pro there.

How dead are we talking? Does it give you an error? Or just plain doesn’t work?
have you tried shining a light on the port and see if it needs cleaning? (Compressed air and a flat Q-tip)
Depending on the model, some can be easily replaced , others the whole logic board needs replacement…
in that case your best bet is to take it to the Apple Store or to a certified service provider :
