iTunes tells me that I need to download the latest iTunes version to update my iPhone. When I check the iTunes website I do have the latest version. It will not let me update my iPhone.

How do I clear this error?

Restart Windows, and try again. iTunes can need a background update for newer device support, and which can sometimes get stuck.

It sounds like you are still running Windows 7 or 8, and you cannot update iTunes because the latest versions require Windows 10 or 11.
