Can I find out who's the owner of a found iPod through iTunes account of the lost iPod

No.


All you can (and should) do is hand it in to the relevant authority:

  • if you found it in the street (a public street), hand it in to the nearest police station to where you found it
  • if you found it in a shopping centre (mall), which is almost certainly privately owned, hand it into the Lost Property Office of the shopping centre
  • if you found it on a bus, train, plane etc., or school, university or college, hand it into that company's or organisation's Lost Property Office
  • if you found it in a shop, or other similarly owned property, hand it into the shop's manager


Whenever someone posts here to say they've lost their iPod (or other device), we suggest to them that they try the options listed above. If they do that, then that owner would like to believe that you've already handed it in, and it's there waiting for them to ask if it's there.


Apple is not able to assist in this process, partly because they do not necessarily have the current legal owner's details.
