My phone company wants to charge me for 4 FaceTime calls

Hi there,

my phone company wants to charge me for 4 Facetime calls in September.

I live in Köln Germany and called a friend in the U.S. ( with Facetime - proved in the calling list)

Since I thought it is a free call -like Skype - we talked quite a while. Now I'm getting a bill of more than 100.-€uros. for that month.

Did anyone experience something similar? Is that correct at all?

Hi Jörg,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Apple support have an article online that explains about FaceTime.

Make and receive FaceTime calls on iPhone

Says:

"With an internet connection and an Apple ID,

you can make and receive calls in the FaceTime app

You can also make FaceTime calls over a cellular data connection,

which may incur additional charges.

To turn this feature off, go to Settings > Cellular, then turn off FaceTime".
