Battery swap

Hi, I was just wonder what would happen if you put an iPhone 7 battery into an iPhone 6s. I heard the battery sizes are the same but the iPhone 7 battery is a bit bigger in capacity; the 'lego connector' is also supposed to be the same. This is should an 'upgrade' right?
