Pages app on iPad freezes up

Recently updated my iPad OS to 15 and now trying to use Pages. The app has frozen 4 times in the past 15 minutes. I barely get a sentence or two written and it stops working. I either close out of the app (press the home button) or kill it entirely, then come back ~5 minutes later and it works again.

*My apologies to the community. My device was supposed to update overnight to IOS15 but has not. I will update and try again.
