Opening Floppy disks w LaCie usb drive

got A LaCie pocket usb to try and open floppy disks w MacBook Air running El Capitan 10.11.3

is there software for this

the la cue is recognized on the MacBook but just shows as an exe file

LaCie says no drivers necessary; your Mac should see it once plugged in.


When you say "shows as a .exe file" you're talking Windows file formats. Is there a floppy in the drive that was once, or maybe still is, formatted for windows?


Generally, you don't need any drive maker's software. Your Mac already has everything it needs to access a drive. You may need to insert a floppy though, preferably one formatted for Mac use..
