I had this message for the last 2 weeks I update my phone still nothing what to do to fix this problem ASAP I hate putting in my password all the time The whole point of me getting a upgraded phone was to use face recognition but since it’s not working it’s very frustrating please help me
Did you use your computer to set your phone back to factory settings, without using the latest backup and test FaceID after that ?
Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to factory settings
If you still can't enroll your face or unlock your device with Face ID, take your device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact Apple Support about your iPhone.
This is a known issue for some users who upgraded to iOS 14.7 or iOS 14.7.1. There are no known solution at this time and we are hoping that the issue will be fixed in a future release of iOS.
In the meantime, please contact Apple Support (Get Support) to let them know. The more people reporting the issue, the faster a fix will be issued.
I think this issue is most definitely caused by the update. I spoke to an Apple representative today and was told to take my phone into an Apple store for repair, but she admitted that this is an issue they are aware of and suggested that I check back to see if a software update or repair program will fix it for free.
i think I’ll wait a few weeks to see if that happens before I shell out $$$ to have it fixed.
So if a lot of people are having the same issue after updating, obviously it’s something on Apple’s end so will this be covered if I do take it to the store to get serviced.
iOS 14.8 came out yesterday. I doubt that it will fix this issue as it was a security update. Nevertheless, iOS 15 is coming out next week, on 9/20/2021. Let's hope that it includes this fix.
ios 15 didn’t fix it
