How does one use apple movie credit

? Apple charged me for a movie rental instead of first using the Apple TV movie credit I was given?I have 2 movie credits for apple tv movies to WATCH. I selected a movie to watch but instead of using the credit my credit card was charged. I called ACS and they would not refund my charge and subtract a movie credit. Why not? How does one use a credit
