I used to watch videos via iTunes Homeshare and AppleTV but for some reason when watching a movie the audio starts popping and clicking and then goes out of sync. Eventually all audio stops and sometimes the movie stops too. How can we fix the issue? I've tried every Google search recommendation with no luck. (Resetting AppleTV, using the Audio-Sync correction, updating iTunes, etc... but nothing works)

So, it looks like this is in Apple's court to fix the issue. In the meantime we have to investigate other software to manage our media library and stream video. Thanks for nothing Apple.

We understand you're having an issue where the audio on Apple TV becomes out of sync. We'd be happy to provide information to help you address this.
Make sure your Apple TV is up-to-date: Update your Apple TV
Also, try restarting your router since this may help. Directions on restarting vary by modem model. Your Internet provider may be able to help with this.
If the issue continues, please let us know if you're using AirPlay while playing movies.

FYI - I fixed the problem by downloading Plex to replace iTunes and then installing the Plex app on my AppleTV. Now all movies play without issue. It seems like iTunes and AppleTV are causing the audio problem.
The problem is that Plex is unable to play any DRM protected videos that you have purchased from Apple and stored on a Mac for Homesharing.
I have an ATV 4K now running 14.7 and an iMac running the latest Mojave. Audio is stereo Homepods. This system is misbehaving.
I am finding that lipsync issues start around 30 minutes into a show using the Computers app & Homesharing. Sometimes pausing and playing the show fixes it. Other times I have to stop the video completely and restart it (then choose resume).
With the latest tvOS my Channels app (for watching live TV via HDHomerun tuner) now has lipsync issues.
Very irritating as the system was working great a few months ago.
