ICLOUD Backups

I got an IPad. I want to switch iPads but my iCloud is full. I had a look at it and it said 4.6gb = backups. It had multiple iPad backups. If I delete the backup and again make a new backup will it remove any in app data on my current iPad?

iPad backups I have two iPads with the same Apple ID the photos and documents being saved to iCloud are identical. Is it ok to turn the backup off on one so I can just keep my free 5G space and not purchase more.

Making a backup does not affect current content on a device.
