Importing photos on to my Mac

I am having issues importing the photos on my phone onto my computer. When I connect it, it keeps disconnecting as it is still plugged in.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Try a different cable (preferably apple original)

Try a different USB port.

Importing photos to mac I am trying to import photos from my iPhone to my Mac. I have never had problems doing this before. However, this evening every time I connect my phone ‘Photos’ continually switches screens between importing photos and welcome to photos. Then it stopped and imported my photos and then they disappeared and I got the flashing between screens again. Anyone had a similar issue and know how to stop this? Many thanks.
