I have an Apple TV HD I purchased the new latest remote, it won’t pair despite the instructions, it says to move closer to the Apple TV but nothing happens, tried turning the TV unit off and on. Would the original black remote be interfering with the pairing? Any clues.

Yeah thanks for that I had done my research before posting and none of the options are working just getting "move remote closer to the Apple TV " then nothing happens, any other advice would be much appreciated.

Ok so even though the Apple TV is on auto update it didn’t update so updating from 14.4 to 14.5 plus the old turn off turn on after the update solved the issue…..
My next port of call, like to resolve things myself first
