playlistss don't sync with music

m1 macbook does not sync music with Iphone 12

Brian,

If you have a subscription to Apple Music, set it up as indicated in here:

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support


If you don't have a subscription, you can connect via USB and sync using Finder:

Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

Thanks. I don't have a subscription to Music. ( never will - hate paying for stuff I don't use) I was connecting with USB to my macbook M1 and sync did not work. ( i have followed all the steps outlined in the link you provided.- and everything else for half a day!)


I resolved the issue by signing out of music on my iphone 12 and then signing in again. All playlists and music synced fine.
