I am on Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7, and for some time now, when I transfer a message from the Inbox Mail to one of my folders in the application, the content of the message vanishes!
What is going on? Is there a way to recover the content of these messages?

Try selecting the mailbox that it is now in and select Rebuild from the Mailbox menu.
Mail indexes emails into a database for display and searching. When you select one, it should go grab the content from the actual message file. If the index gets corrupt, it won't be able to find the original. Rebuilding might fix that problem.

OK. It might be because I have another problem, which is that Mail does not synchronize properly between my different machines...

Thanks! It seems to have solved my problem. I have to check one thing: it seems that some messages were simply erased after the operation.
Sorry, I don't know what would cause that unless the raw message file was missing (deleted), but the index still had the message listed.
