Apple Mail Catalina erases attachments

When I move an email with an attachment to an Apple Mail folder, the entire message is erased. This has occurred with a recent Catalina upgrade. No erasure when the email is moved to the desktop.

emails in the Apple Mail program Suddenly (if never happened before) when I attempt to move a "sent" email to a folder under Personal Folders (I have quite a few of them) it disappears and cannot be found in the folder to which it was dragged, nor can I go back to the "sent" folder to find it there. I have to go to the "Archive" folder to find it and drag it into the intended folder. Is this a problem with the upgrade to Catalina 10.15.1 in the mail program and how can it be fixed?

Can't move email to folder in Apple Mail after upgrading to OS Catalina I can't move some emails to folders after my OS upgraded to Catalina. I use the feature of using folders a lot, so this is not a welcome issue. Some actually show up in the folder, but then also remain in the Mail queue and some won't move at all.

I can't replicate that.

Maybe try Rebuilding the Mailboxes.

Select the mailbox you are moving from and choose the Rebuild command from the Mailbox menu.

Select the destination mailbox and Rebuild it, also.

This should not cause data loss, but I would want to have a backup just in case.
