Startup Disk

My MacbookPro(2012) shows a folder icon with blinking question mark upon start up.

Start up disk is not showing in disk utilities when trying to boot up in recovery mode.

The internal drive is dead or not properly connected. Either issue requires a hardware repair.

Get flashing ? Mac Pro will only startup up correctly from restart it shows a flashing ? Folder where booting after proper shutdown. Have to use an external boot disk to get to startup.
