unlocked iphone says network not supported

I bought this iphone 8 over amazon and it says carrier lock no sim restrictions which means its unlocked but when i put my sim card in it says no service. ive already tried resetting the network settings and taking it out and putting the sim back in but nothing works

Hello,

It probably means the the phone is not really unlocked. Try this:

1) Contact the cellular provider of the SIM card that you are trying to install

2) Go to Settings > General > About. Check Carrier Lock. What does it say? Also check PRIMARY - Network etc.

3) See this: How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier

4) Return the phone to Amazon.
