Looking for help and I need an idiots guide please as I haven't done this in a long time.
I want to upgrade from Mojave to Catalina and not Big Sur.
If I go to system preferences it looks like it will download Big Sur which I don't want, so how do I download Catalina please.

The link provided by @Niel - be sure to Only Use Safari as FF / Chrome will not work. Safari will open and redirect to Open the Apple Apps Store directly to download Catalina.
FWIW, Chrome does work. At least the recent versions do.
