big sur 11.2 update not working, stuck at 11.1

tl;dr: The Big Sur 11.2 update appears to install normally, but after it's done, I'm still on 11.1.

Longer version: I ran the Big Sur 11.2 update on my MBP (2017, 15-inch, 158 GB available on the HD). It went through the whole process looking like a normal update (progress bar advanced, rebooted, more progress bar on the login screen, asked me if I want to set up "hey siri" after I logged in). Looks great, right?

But after it's all finished, if I go to System Preferences, it still tells me I need to install the 11.2 update. And "About This Mac" tells me I'm still running 11.1.

I went through the whole update process twice, same thing happened both times.

Anyone know what the issue might be?
