press and hold for accents
I have a 2020 MacBook Air and version 11.1 macOS Big Sur. I write in French a lot and the press and hold to show the accents menu is not working on my machine. I just get the letter repeated. Can anyone help?

Turn on the accents with this Terminal command:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true
followed by the Return key. Then reboot to activate the feature.
