Just taken delivery of a Lacie drive. To connect the USB-C cable I have to really push hard to get it into my MacBook, and removal is very difficult, like I have to be square on to get enough of a pull.
Clearly worried about my Mac being ruined, I have already started to use the USB-C cable from my MacBook power charger.
Anyone experienced the same problem, and am I doing right ignoring the Lacie cable?

I put the Lacie cables in my recycle bin and purchased Apples own cable. Cost a bit, but now the drive connects as it should have done right from the start. Good drive but lousy cheap cables.
Best of the options is to just buy a new cable. Certainly a replacement from Lacie, should it be offered , would be rubbish.
I think that the cable from Apple cost me £30+. Not cheap but quality product.
I have exactly the same problem. It is damaging my MacBook port for sure. I emailed Lacie support and asked for a replacement cable to be sent out. They havn't gotten back to me yet. I doubt they will even respond. I might just buy another cable from Apple direct.
all depends. lots of those cables to different c ports are tight. better tight than loose. grab it solid and don't pull on cable.
Agree. To mąke matters more upsetting is the fact that i purchased the drive from Apple’s on-line store. Okay, Apple have a disclaimer about not giving warranty to products other than their own, but surely someone must take responsibility for selling products that clearly are not fit for purpose.
The drive of course works a treat :)
I am having the same experience. Just bought a couple new LaCie drives. The cables work but are SO TIGHT (very hard to put in even more difficult to remove) it's making me nervous that I'm damaging something.
Lacie should have really tested these cables properly before shipping them.
