Migration of Office:mac2011 did not work; new MacAir will not let me use office as activation fails. Where do I add Product Key to activate?

Office 2011 doesn’t work on a new Mac because Office 2011 is still 32-bit. You can go to their website and subscribe to Microsoft Office 365 or download and install the free Office Libre for Mac. https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/install-howto/macos/ It works fine together with older Office-files. Also Apple’s own Pages, Numbers and Keynote that is already on your Mac is an option (depends on your needs)
Mac Office 2011 is not supported on macOS 10.13 High Sierra. See https://9to5mac.com/2017/09/01/microsoft-office-for-mac-2011-high-sierra-compatibility/
