I turned on MMS and then powered my phone off and back on and it still does not seem to work. Any other suggestions?
As SMS/MMS is a carrier feature, contact your carrier’s tech support.

As SMS/MMS is a carrier feature, contact your carrier’s tech support.
Have you tried it with MP3 files that previously sent successfully, or new ones that may be larger? Are you sending using iMessage to another iPhone, or are you sending by MMS to some other type of phone?
iMessage has no limit that you are likely to encounter, but your cellular provider has limits on the size of message attachments.
I guess I don’t know what MMS messages are. The small MP3 files I sent out are to iPhones and android phones, any phone number.
as of about a month ago I have not been able to send MP3 files through Messages.
MMS is what you use to send to non-iPhones. It uses the carrier’s network.
Go to Settings/Messages and make sure MMS is turned on. If there is no switch to turn it on your account with your carrier is not configured correctly; call their tech support to get the problem resolved.
the files are about the same size. I could text them to any phone # before. Is it because of new Apple updates that I cant do it any more?
There is nothing in iOS 14 that would change a limit in the size of a file that you can send. Asking again, are these iMessages or MMS messages?
I turned on MMS and then powered my phone off and back on and it still does not seem to work. Any other suggestions?
It now sends to people with iPhones and not others.
As above make sure SMS and MMS are turned on in Settings, Messages.
NB unlike Whatsapp, sending files by text may cost you real money like 50c a go
