I just bought an older Mac specifically bc I need to do some editing projects. The guy who sold it said I have enough memory but now I’m finding I can’t download the free trial for Final Cut Pro or evening iMovie bc it requires a newer os. Any advice (besides taking it back and getting a new one which I’ll do if there’s no other options )
Final Cut Pro X now requires Catalina or later. Check the compatibility list for Catalina to see if you can upgrade.

Thank you for your helpful answer so I learned that with my MacBook Pro NEC be 2013 or newer mine is late 2011 so does that mean I just need to get a new computer or is there a way to upgrade
