ios 14.2 won't install on my iphone

I am trying to install the ios 14.2 update to my iPhone 6s. The last update my phone received was 12.4.1, so it's been awhile. After clearing up my storage I was able to successfully download the update, but every time I try to install it, it gives me a generic error message saying "an error occured installing iOS 14.2". I have tried restarting my iphone. It's also connected to internet and charging. I don't know what I'm missing or how to make the update install properly.

Does your iPhone have at least 4GB - 6GB of free storage space to download and complete the installation process?

You can also try and update your iPhone by connecting it to a computer.
