Connectivity issue , Apple Pencil with iPad pro

My iPad Pro won’t pair to my Apple Pencil 2nd gen. When the Apple Pencil is attached to the magnetic side , it gives me to the option to connect but once I click connect , the Bluetooth settings come up & my Apple Pencil won’t appear in “my devices “ list .
