remote never pairs to Apple TV... ever

so this just started recently, but i use my Apple TV for everything. Every time i try to turn on my Apple TV, it doesn’t want to turn on. For some reason I can’t get the remote to pair with the Apple TV. Not only that but i try to hold down the menu and up button to pair, and that doesn’t even work. Doesn’t matter how close i get to the Apple TV and press those buttons or any buttons for that matter, nothing works. I literally have to restart my Apple TV every time i want to use it by pressing menu and tv button. Its updated to the new IOS and this has been going on before that. Just trying to figure out what’s wrong.

The pairing relies on recognizing the remote as the the device to connect to. The movement and associated signal strength gain helps with that.

Try removing other bluetooth devices (i.e. your phone in your pocket) from the proximity of the Apple TV temporarily, or turn off other bluetooth devices temporarily.
