Sharing Synology NAS through Wi-Fi?

My modem and router are in a quiet place and the Synology NAS is rather noisy, even in quiet mode. Can the NAS be connected to an iMac running Catalina in a noisier place and shared to the network if that iMac is connected to the router only through wi-fi?

You probably will be better with USB external drive, to connect with iMac -- use iMac as share point.

Most of the home user utilize DHCP/provided by router -- that using iMac as your base might conflict with your home network.

The network wire can run to 100 meter/328ft -- if you have the capacity to run "within 100meter" length from the router - to a desired area for the NAS -- that might be the best bet.
