software update -macOS Catalina 10.15.6 Update
I have tried heaps of times to update my the software on my MacBook Air but it just doesn't happen.
Can anyone advise me on a fix please?

Make sure that you enough free space to download, verify and install the update. If you have at least 30GB or so free space then that should work. Furthermore, try and update your MacBook Air to macOS Catalina 10.15.6 by directly downloading the ➔ macOS Catalina 10.15.6 Combo Update.
