not able to change the homepage of safari

I'm not able to change the homepage of safari browser. it is greyed out as shown. I have also checked in the system preferences but no separate profile is added. I have checked with Malwarebytes about any adware added in Mac, but it is showing no threats detected. The url in the homepage placeholder is some kind of adware, i think. Please help.

Malwarebytes should detect and remove the original cause of that but it can't clean up all of the after effects. The following instructions from their support forum may help: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/236261-how-to-remove-the-after-effects-of-adware/
