Have MacOS 10.15.1 (currently updated) with Safari 13.03

Reviewed Eric Root's response to previous user.

Removed extension duckduck.go,

Ran Malwarebytes, got 19 files quarantined, then removed. Restarted -

No change - and ran it again with response of clean sheet.

Suggestions?

I found a site "Malwaretips.com" where among other points it mentioned

to check "System Preferences>Profiles", and indicated normally there is none.

There was an entry which made no sense, deleted it and recovered

my Homepage. I will see if that holds, and will let you know if it doesn't.

Thank you very much for your help!
