Battery life of new macbook air drains fast

I just bought a new 2020 macbook air (MacOS Catalina 10.15.6) and arrived on 28 July. However, the battery is much shorter than expected. It took about 3 hours to fully drain the battery from 100% to 0%. It was stated that the battery life is 6-12 hours. The only thing I was doing on my laptop was watching videos on YouTube and there was no other background apps opened.

I purchased this macbook air with Apple Care. Should I just go get a replacement?

Streaming video is fairly processor intensive, even more so if you’re doing it in Chrome. A new Mac will perform the same, because there’s nothing wrong with yours. Best to use it on AC power as often as possible.
