I don’t have my old iPhone but if I erase all context and settings is there an activation lock? I’m wanting to give the Apple Watch to my grandma.

I sold my old iPhone the watch is connected to. When I go to erase all settings and content it says something about an activation lock but there shouldn’t be one. Also it’s just GPS. Can my grandma still pair it to her iPhone with her Apple ID?

See the last ;paragraph in the "Before you sell, give away, or trade in your Apple Watch" section of:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Apple Watch, or buy one from someone else - Apple Support'

about turning off Activation Lock from iCloud.com.

I don’t have the iPhone. But when I go to erase it on iCloud it asks for my number do I not need to put my number in? I already erased the Apple Watch itself. Can I still erase it on iCloud? I don’t want to report it as lost or stolen because it’s not. But idk maybe I messed it up. My grandma needs this watch because when she’s watching my son she can’t always hear her phone go off since he’s loud or her volume doesn’t always work.

On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Find Iphone.

Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase Apple Watch.

Select Next until the device is erased.

Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.
