Frozen Gmail

I updated yesterday to iOS 13.6 on my mini iPad generation 4. Since then the gmail app is frozen. I have rebooted 3 times, purged my cache, still won’t work. Sometimes it loads and sometimes it is empty. Can’t do anything at all, no refresh, no opening new email, cant scroll at all, can’t compose new one; nothing. Other than deleting the app, I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to lose all me email by deleting it and reinstalling.
