IPhone activation lock help

My nephew passed away I receive his iPhone unfortunately he did not leave any Apple ID or password and so the phone says activation lock and will not let me unlock it what can I do to unlock the phone so that I may be able to use it any help would be greatly appreciated thanks so much

Take the device and a death certificate to Apple to help you.
