Recycling MacBook Pro

I have an old 2009 MacBook Pro that I'd like to recycle as I've bought a new one. Since we're still in the midst of COVID-19 I'm wondering if there's a way to do that now or do I just have to wait for the Apple Stores to open again?

You can get a prepaid shipping label sent to. Click on the "Select your device to get a trade-in estimate" section of Apple Trade In - Apple

If the device has no value it will offer to send a label for shipping for recycling.

Another option is to do an internet search to see if there are any electronics recycling places in your area.
