Recycling old MacBook Pro

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro I want to recycle. I don't expect anything for it, I just want to ensure it is recycled properly. Can I just bring it to an Apple Store? Is there a charge?

Yes, you can handover your old macbook pro in nearest apple store and they recyle it in free of cost Recycling - Apple (ME)
