For months now my apple watch wants me to sign in to my apple ID. I have tried many times with the correct password and it will not connect. It is currently not allowing me to use the keyboard on my phone to enter it. However, when this feature was working in the past it still did not allow for connection to my apple id.

Try this;
On your phone go into your profile page and sign out at the bottom of the screen then sign back in again.

Try unpairing and re-pairing the watch.
