When I record video directly into iMovie it is not recording any sound.

The mic I am using is working fine with FaceTime, Zoom, and PhotoBooth, but is not working with iMovie. It was working fine before the latest upgrade of both operating system (macOS Catalina version 10.15.4) and iMovie (10.1.14). The sound is working fine with my old projects, but I can't record with sound anymore.

Why is my Snowball Mic not being detected in sound system preferences on my Mac? I have used this mic before on my mac to do voiceovers on imovie, last time I used it was probably a month ago, and now that I want to record again it won't detect it on imovie, I checked all of my preferences and everything is as it should be to allow mic usage but the mic does not appear on output sound preferences. Any idea why? please help!

I am making an iMovie on my iMac Pro and cannot record sound! I am making an iMovie on my iMac Pro and cannot record sound (narration)! I am using the built in microphone as I have many times before! The clip shows that I am recording, but there is no sound on playback! The builtin microphne works in Final Cut Pro!

Try to enable your mic for iMovie in System Preferences -> Security & Privacy.
