I’m totally current with Catalina upgrades but there seems to be a problem

Lately Safari will drop the connection to the Internet, even while the Wifi is still connected (Mail keeps responding, etc). Also, Mac won’t shut down correctly about 30% of the time.

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.15
