my built in microphone is working for everything else but not imovie?! Help, never had this issue! I also made sure all setting where good in, input, out I also made sure settings were set to built in microphone
Try going to System Preferences/Security and Privacy/Privacy and select Microphone in the side bar of the box that appears. Then put a check next to iMovie. That will allow iMovie to access your microphone.

Can you tell what steps you took and what happened when you tried? Are you trying to do a voiceover?
