Serial Number is not Valid

Hi,

Everytime I enter my macbook pro serial number apple support tells me it's not a valid serial number!

I cannot event ask it on chat, because your chat support needs serial number to proceed and it doesn't accept my serial number again!

I copy the serial number using Command+C, so it cannot be my mistake in typing

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.15

The point is that the label beneath the macbook matches with the serial number OS shows.

I am confused... I am not addressing Apple? How can I directly ask an apple users support agent?

I'm sorry, but if all other remote options fail, then an Apple Store or AASP may be it (when they re-open of course). @leroydouglas did provide the official Apple links for support.

In addition to the information @leroydouglas provided earlier, this is the Apple Support page which will direct you to the appropriate support channel:

https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=psp&PRKEYS=PL107

The link is from near the bottom of this page here:

https://support.apple.com/mac/macbook-pro

You may want to consider creating a new thread describing the problem you are having with the laptop (beyond the serial# issue) to see if other users in these community forums can assist you.

Did you buy the computer directly from Apple or from a reseller? If the later, you should take it up with the reseller.

Has the logic board been replaced?

...because your chat support needs...

By the way, you are not addressing Apple here. We are end users volunteering to help others. Other than advising you to pursue it farther with Apple to get a "why", there is not much we can do about this issue.

When typing the serial number remember Apple does not use the letter "O" so the character will be either the number zero or possibly the letter "Q" (look closely for the tail). Also be careful to distinguish between certain letters and numbers which can look alike such as: "B" & "8", "S" & "5", etc.

FYI, I've had copy & paste fail sometimes because for some reason it gathers up extra hidden characters.

You may need to take the laptop to an Apple Store or an AASP for assistance if you cannot get assistance over the phone.

Good luck.
