Mac OS Catalina 10.15.3 Update: Battery Issue

The exact same thing happened to me. Battery working fine on a 2016 model, no problems at all then updated to Catalina and now when I unplug from the AC adapter it shuts down and turns off, says "replace battery know". Called and after 6 support staff and every single thing they can think of they say the only option is for me to buy a new battery! They say if enough people have the same issue they "may" release an extension.

for context, my laptop is a MacBook Pro Mid 2012. When I see the battery settings, it states that “battery is charged” and “condition: replace now” - although this condition has been the case for the last year.

Seems like there is more than just myself that have this issue. The support staff made me feel as though I was the only one and this was my fault (my computers fault)

Same here... I had to replace the battery on my own in this quarantine period. Had to order from ifixit website... battery health is normal now, like 90-95%. But yeah, what can I do... probably buy myself a razer laptop with Rtx2080.

I have same problem when I updated to 10.15.4. Battery status is “condition: replace now”.

I got an update this morning to Catalina 10.15.4, and my battery asks me to replace it now. If I take out the charger, my Mac shuts down completely.
